Yes, TD for Me is a way to get more from the TD app, but it's optional. Disabling it won't affect the rest of the TD app in any way.
To disable TD for Me for a while, or for good, go to the main menu of the TD app and select Preferences, then TD for Me Settings.

No, whether you decide to keep TD for Me on, or disable it, everything else in the TD app will function in exactly the same way.

Expand Do I need to be connected to Wi-Fi or a network to use TD for Me?
TD for Me won't be able to work if your phone is not connected to a network or Wi-Fi.
TD for Me works best when, in addition to being connected to a network, you have Wi-Fi turned on, as your phone's Location Services will be able to more accurately identify your location.
Expand How do I personalize my TD for Me experience?
You can Favourite things that you like so that you can look at them later.
If you're looking at an offer, event or location and want to save it, tap the star icon. That will add it to a list of Favourites, so you can easily find it later just by selecting Favourites within a filter.
When you add something to your Favourites, you'll receive notifications to let you know about what's happening with that offer, event or location, even when you're not nearby.
Expand Who can use TD for Me?
You can use TD for Me if you're a TD Canada Trust customer with valid login credentials for EasyWeb online banking, and have the Canadian TD app. You also must accept the TD for Me Privacy Consent and Terms & Conditions.
Expand What devices does TD for Me work on?
TD for Me is available within the TD app for iPhone (iOS) and Android mobile devices.
TD for Me is not available within the TD app for smartwatches, BlackberryTM, or WindowsTM devices.
Expand What happens if I disable Location Services on my phone?
If you disable Location Services for your phone, or specifically for the TD app, TD for Me won't be able to let you know about things like offers, timely info and events that are near to where you are.
You can still use TD for Me, but you'll need to tap the 'You're at' location indicator at the top of the TD for Me screen in the app, and type in an address or location manually, to find out what's going on nearby.
Expand How does TD for Me let me know when something interesting is nearby?
TD for Me may send a notification to your phone to let you know of something interesting nearby. A quick tap on the notification will open the TD app and show you more information about that location or event.
You can also browse for events, offers, tips, or other things of interest near you any time, by tapping on TD for Me on the main page of the TD app.
Expand Can I find out about events, offers and info at locations other than my current location?
Yes, you can type in any location in the search field (found at the top of the TD for Me screen) to see what events, offers, and other things of interest are near that location.
Expand Can I adjust the battery usage for TD for Me?
Go to the main menu of the TD app, select Preferences, and then TD for Me Settings. There, you'll find a Battery Saver setting for TD for Me.
For iOS (Apple) phones, there is an adjustable slider. By default, we've set it so that when your battery reaches 10% remaining, TD for Me will automatically stop using the Location Services of your device. Use the slider to change the Battery Saver percentage to whatever level works for you.
For Android phones, there is a Battery Saver on/off mode, which we've set to 'on' by default. When your battery level gets low (15% for most Android devices, but it can vary by manufacturer), TD for Me will automatically stop making use of the Location Services of your device.
Expand What kind of data does TD retain when I use TD for Me?
TD For Me uses the Location Services of your phone to let you know when you are near an offer, event, or other location that we think may be of interest to you.
TD also keeps record of whether we sent you a notification, and whether you opened the app and explored the information that the notification was drawing to your attention.
We use this information to measure the effectiveness of the notifications, and learn how we can provide you with even better value.
TD respects your privacy and we will not sell any of your personally identifiable information to third parties.
Expand Does TD for Me track my movements?
No, we use your location to determine if you are near various places where we want to let you know about an offer, event, or other similar information that we think may be of interest to you.
Using the Location Services of your phone, TD for Me periodically checks to see if you are currently located at, or near, any of those places, so that we can bring those offers, events, or other information to your attention.
While TD for Me uses and stores the data that indicates you were at these places, it does not record your location if you are not at these places. TD for Me does not track your movements.
Expand Will my data be shared with any third parties?
We will not sell personal information (such as your location data) that we collect about you to third parties, unless that data has been anonymized and aggregated to a sufficient degree that it can no longer be personally identifiable.
Expand Do I need to log in to the TD app to use TD for Me?
We'll ask you to log in and view and accept the Privacy Consent and Terms and Conditions the first time you use TD for Me. Once you've accepted, TD for Me and its features are available without the need to log in.
If you want to change your TD for Me Settings, you will first need to log in to the TD app.
Expand What happens if I don't accept the Terms & Conditions?
If you don't accept the TD for Me Privacy Consent and Terms & Conditions, you won't be able to use any of the TD for Me functions. Everything else in the TD app will function in exactly the same way, though.
Expand What kind of notifications might I receive when I use TD for Me?
TD For Me may send notifications to your device for various nearby events, offers, tips, and reminders that we think you may find interesting, such as:
- Branch notifications – if a Customer Appreciation Day, seminar, special offer, or event is happening at a branch nearby, we’ll let you know.
- Events notifications – if TD Community events, music festivals, and other TD-sponsored events are coming up near you, we'll let you know.
- Offers notifications – learn about offers you get as a TD customer.
Expand How do I reduce or turn off Push Notifications for TD for Me?
You can customize your TD for Me settings so that you will receive notifications for some things and not others. For example, you can choose to receive alerts for Events, but not for Branch info. To choose the notifications you’ll receive, go to the main menu of the TD app, and select Preferences , then TD for Me Settings . You can also turn off all notifications for TD for Me in those same settings.
Expand I missed seeing a notification for TD for Me. Can I see it again?
This depends on your device. Look for TD for Me notifications where you normally see notifications from the apps on your device.
Expand Why do I only see a small number of things around me on TD for Me?
We'll be adding more events, offers, tips, and reminders to TD for Me as time goes by.
