TD Securities and its employees are active participants in all the communities where they work, both in Canada and abroad. We take pride in knowing that many community programs have benefited from our corporate and individual donations, as well as from the time and effort our employees have invested as volunteers.

In 1999, TD Securities' community efforts were directed mainly towards children and youth - a focus driven primarily by the interests of our employees. Our philanthropy program involves both corporate and employee-driven initiatives.

CORPORATE INITIATIVES
In 1999, TD Securities' maintained its support and partnership with Invest in Kids Foundation, a national organization devoted to the healthy development of Canada's youngest children from birth to five - the ages viewed as the most critical in a child's development. In September, TD Securities hosted its third consecutive Invest in Kids Day, which once again earned overwhelming support from our institutional equity clients who directed a record volume of trades through TD Securities. The resulting commission dollars - a new high of $720,000 - were donated to Invest in Kids to fund ongoing education, research projects and upgrades to the foundation's web site (www.investinkids.ca).

Every year, TD Securities also supports many other organizations and worthwhile causes in support of research, medical advancement, social development, the arts and amateur sports.

EMPLOYEE-DRIVEN INITIATIVES
This past year, TD Securities employees dug even deeper into their own pockets for fundraising through the TD Securities Employees Underwriting Hope Fund. This year's main event was a live, and silent auction, which raised $170,000 in just a few hours thanks to the efforts of employees, who participated not only by donating and purchasing items, but also through cash donations and event planning.

The funds raised by the Underwriting Hope Fund in 1999 were directed to a number of children's charities, including:

1. The Yonge Street Mission, to provide further funding to the TD Securities Computer Literacy Centre, which gives underprivileged children access to computers and time with instructors.
2. Growing Together, an organization that provides free health promotion and early intervention for needy families with infants and preschoolers.
3. Giant Steps Toronto, a unique school/therapy centre for children with autism and related disorders.
4. The Learning Partnership, an organization that embraces the challenge of "getting education right" by creating linkages among schools, businesses and communities. One of TLP's best know projects is "Take Our Kids To Work Day."
5. AboutFace, an organization that provides information and support services and educational programs to children who suffer from serious facial differences.

These are just a small sample of the organizations supported by our employees and firm in 1999. Whether it's direct donations and food drives or volunteering time to teach computer skills to underprivileged children, TD Securities' employees demonstrate their commitment to building healthy and vital communities.
