Investment Strategy:
The Emerald U.S. Market Fund is designed to closely track the
performance of the S&P 500 Index, in Canadian dollars. This index provides
broad exposure to the United States equity market and is the most widely
accepted benchmark of American equity performance. The Portfolio of the
Fund is invested in the 500 component stocks of the S&P 500 Index, in
substantially the same proportion as they are weighted in the Index, and
thereby provides a market rate of return.
Investment Objective:
The Fund provides investors with investment returns that, before expenses,
correspond to the total return of large companies in the United States, as
represented by the Standard & Poor's 500 Total Return Index.
Who should invest in the
fund?
This Fund is suitable for investors seeking:
- broad diversification and long-term growth potential of the U.S.
economy from a fund that has lower fees than actively managed funds.
- performance without having to worry about security selection by the
Fund Manager.
- the tax-efficiency of a fund that has lower portfolio turnover than
active funds.
