Life Insurance can be used to provide an income for your family, pay outstanding debt balances (including your mortgage), provide for your children’s education, and pay funeral related expenses.

Coverage Benefits

TD Group Term Life Insurance is underwritten by TD Life Insurance Company (TD Life), and provides a benefit for your family to take care of life’s necessities in the event of your premature death. Both you and your spouse can each apply for up to $250,000 of coverage, and you can apply for $10,000 to cover each of your children.

At no additional cost, our life insurance includes the following features for you and your spouse:

• an accidental dismemberment benefit of up to $20,000 can help cover expenses for rehabilitation; and
• a waiver of premium benefit will pay your premiums as long as you remain totally disabled until age 65 (for primary applicant only); and
• a living benefit loans you up to 50% of your total coverage amount (up to a maximum of $50,000) if you are under the age of 65, diagnosed with a terminal illness and you have less than 12 months to live. The living benefit amount plus accrued interest will be deducted from the proceeds payable to the beneficiary under the policy.

When you reach the age of 65, the policy terminates, but our convertibility feature enables you and your spouse to obtain individual life insurance coverage.
