TD Visa Consumer Cards will come equipped with Visa payWave*, a new “contactless” payment system that’s faster and more convenient than paying with cash. You can charge purchases in amounts up to $25 directly to your TD Visa Card, simply by waving your Card in front of the Visa payWave terminal that you'll start to see at more and more merchants.

Look for the Visa payWave symbol found on your TD Visa chip Card and on the merchant terminals.

Visa payWave contactless payment solution is secure and easy to use – a great way to speed through lines at convenience stores, coffee shops or anywhere else you make everyday purchases.

How does Visa payWave work?

New TD Visa Cards have a built-in chip and antenna that wirelessly connect with Visa payWave terminals. When you wave your TD Visa chip Card in front of the terminal, payment details are securely transmitted.

Just wave your TD Visa chip Card to pay and go!

Visa payWave can be faster than using cash and most Visa payWave transactions take only seconds. Simply:

• When prompted, wave your TD Visa chip Card in front of the merchant terminal displaying the Visa payWave logo;
• When you hear the “beep”, you’re done! If you would like a receipt, you can request one from the merchant.

Note: Until all contactless merchant terminals are set up the same way, some Visa payWave transactions may print a receipt for a signature or request a PIN.

No need to hunt for coins for purchases under $25 like coffee or snacks – you’re in and out in seconds!

Your TD Visa chip Card doesn’t leave your hand.

No need to give your Card to a cashier, because in most cases, your signature or PIN isn’t required. All your Visa payWave purchases will be billed directly to your TD Visa Account.
