If it is near the last week of February and you wish to apply for a TD Waterhouse Self-Directed RSP or TD Mutual Funds RSP, we recommend that you first open a TD Canada Trust Daily Interest Savings Account RSP and contribute your loan proceeds. This will ensure that your contribution is processed before the deadline. You can then transfer the funds to your TD Waterhouse Self-Directed RSP or TD Mutual Funds RSP account once it has been established.

TD Mutual Funds RSP

From conservative to aggressive funds, TD Mutual Funds offers you the choice you need to build a well-diversified portfolio as well as the professional help and support you need to choose the funds that are right for you.

If you would like to establish a TD Mutual Funds RSP and you need an RSP Loan or Line of Credit, you must establish the account first and then apply for an RSP Loan or Line of Credit once you have an account number. Apply here for a TD Mutual Funds RSP account with TD Investment Services Inc.

Please note that all TD Mutual Funds RSP account applications require your handwritten signature before the account can be opened. Your account can generally be opened within 5 to 10 business days of completing your application (depending on the mail).

Approved Self-Directed RSP accounts with TD Waterhouse Discount Brokerage can be established as early as the next business day after your Internet application is received and approved by TD Waterhouse.

TD Waterhouse Private Client Services Private Investment Advice provides you with the advice and personal service of a dedicated, professional Investment Advisor to help you balance and manage your complete investment portfolio, including your RSP.

TD Waterhouse Financial Planning gives you the opportunity to work with a professional Financial Planner who will help you create and implement a written, customized financial plan, and provide advice and guidance on your RSP and other investments.

TD Waterhouse Private Client Services Private Investment Advice and TD Waterhouse Financial Planning accounts can be opened after you meet with an Investment Advisor or Financial Planner.

The TD Canada Trust On-the-Spot RSP Loan1 is extremely flexible. In fact, you can defer both the principal and interest payments for up to 120 days2 - until your tax refund arrives. So, if you qualify for a refund, you can use it to pay back part, or maybe all of the loan.

TD Canada Trust CarryForward RSP Loan

The TD Canada Trust CarryForward RSP Loan1 is designed to help you take advantage of any unused RSP contribution room. This amount can be substantial, so TD Canada Trust has designed the CarryForward RSP Loan with a $50,000 maximum limit. To help reduce the amount of the monthly payment, the TD Canada Trust CarryForward RSP Loan may be amortized over a 10-year period, and the payment can be deferred for up to 120 days.2

A TD Canada Trust Line of Credit1 is an ideal way to meet current and future RSP contribution needs. You can use your TD Canada Trust Line of Credit to make your RSP contribution into any of our RSPs and not have to worry about arranging financing during the busy RSP season.

Best of all, you can lock in the amount you use for your RSP contribution (minimum $1,000) with our RSP Fixed Rate Advantage Option and enjoy the same features and benefits as a fixed-rate RSP Loan. Some conditions apply.
