In addition, the Annual Plan provides you with Trip
Cancellation and Trip Interruption
coverage benefits. Trip Cancellation coverage
benefits is subject to a maximum limit of $1,000 per Insured Person
per Covered Trip and $5,000 total per Annual Plan Certificate per
Policy Year and will be limited to the cancellation penalties in
effect on the date the Cause for Cancellation arises. Trip
Interruption benefits excludes the cost of pre-paid unused
return transportation, and is subject to a maximum limit of $5,000

can apply for Trip Cancellation benefits of $1,500 per Insured

Certificate per Policy Period OR $3,000 per Insured Person per

Policy Period. There are no Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption Insurance
benefits on the Per Trip Plan. Per Trip PlanPerfect for occasional travellers or short
trips to the U.S. - just purchase before each trip. You can
purchase Travel Medical Insurance for trips of one to 182 days.
Coverage must be purchased for the entire duration of the trip, so
be sure to include the departure and return dates when calculating
the length of your trip. Limits and ExclusionsThere are some limitations and exclusions
to the coverage. For example, you need to contact the Emergency
Assistance Center at 1-866-374-1129 as soon as possible when a
medical emergency happens, or benefits will be reduced to 80% of
what would otherwise be payable, to a maximum of $30,000. A

Insurance for full details. An important note for those 55 years of age or olderIf you are 55 years of age or over and
travelling for 18 days or more, or if you are 85 years of age or

Annual Plan coverage and want to buy extended coverage for a trip
that will last more than 17 days you need to call

977-5040. In either case: - your telephone request for coverage will
be subject to medical underwriting;
- if accepted for coverage, your premium
will be based on your responses to a series of medical
questions;
- the standard pre-existing condition will
not apply to your Emergency Medical coverage, but if you have
Annual Plan coverage, this exclusion will still apply to your Trip
Interruption and Trip Cancellation coverage;
- you must make full disclosure of all
medical conditions, including any changes to your condition before
you leave on your trip; and
- applicants with certain unstable medical
conditions may not qualify for coverage.
