TD Credit Cards will come equipped with a “contactless” payment systems that are faster and more convenient than paying with cash. You can charge small dollar purchases directly to your TD Credit Card, simply by waving your Card in front of the contactless terminal that you'll start to see more often at merchants.

Contactless payments are secure and easy to use – a great way to speed through lines at convenience stores, coffee shops or anywhere else you make everyday purchases.

  • If you have a TD Visa Card look for the Visa payWave® symbol found on your TD Visa Card with chip and on the point of sale merchant terminals.
  • If you have a TD MasterCard®Card look for the MasterCard®PayPassTM symbol found on your TD Cash Back MasterCard Card and on the point of sale merchant terminals.

How does Contactless Payment work?

TD Credit Cards have a built-in chip and radio antenna that wirelessly connect with a secure reader. When you wave your TD Credit Card in front of the terminal, payment details are securely transmitted.


If you have a TD Visa Card

Just wave your TD VisaCard with chip to pay and go!

Visa payWave can be faster than using cash and most Visa payWave transactions take only seconds to perform. When prompted, wave your TD Visa Card with chip in front of the merchant terminal displaying the Visa payWave logo.When you hear the “beep”, you’re done! If you would like a receipt, you can request one from the merchant.

Visa payWave can be used for purchases under $50.

If you have a TD MasterCard Card

Enjoy the convenience of MasterCard PayPass Card

With your TD Cash Back MasterCard Card, you can enjoy the convenience of the MasterCard PayPass contactless payment solution which gives you a quick, easy way to pay without ever letting your Card out of your hand. All you do is tap your Card on the contactless point of sale reader at the merchant’s checkout and you’re on your way.

MasterCard PayPass can be used for purchases under $50.
