The new 7% Manitoba Retail Sales Tax affects your Credit Protection premiums
At TD we are committed to keeping you informed about matters that affect your accounts and the services we provide.
On July 15, 2012 the Manitoba government imposed a 7% Retail Sales Tax that applies to most goods and certain services, including some insurance contracts. Credit Protection Insurance on the following products is among the insurance contracts affected by the new tax:
- TD Canada Trust Mortgage
- TD Canada Trust Loan
- TD Canada Trust Line of Credit (including Home Equity Line of Credit)
- TD Canada Trust Business Credit
- Balance Protection insurance on a TD Canada Trust Credit Card
The 7% Retail Sales Tax will be added to your premiums that become due on or after July 15, 2012. It will be included in the total amount charged to the account your premium is regularly paid from. Your coverage is not affected in any way and there is no action required on your part.
