What is the TD e-Series Funds Account?

The TD e-Series Funds Account is designed with Internet investors in mind. This account takes advantage of the efficiencies of the Internet. Because you do your own research, build your account portfolios with Portfolio Planner, trade online, and receive electronic statements and confirmations, we are able to lower the Management Expense Ratio (MER). TD Canada Trust’s EasyWeb Online banking is the online trading service for all web related transactions. EasyWeb gives you online access to your portfolio holdings. You can place orders for purchases, redemptions, and fund-to-fund transfers from one fund to another or one portfolio to another within the Mutual Funds option of EasyWeb. You can also view your transaction history and even set up a regular investment strategy with a Pre-Authorized Purchase Plan.

What are TD e-Series Funds and TD MAP e-Series?

TD e-Series Funds and TD MAP e-Series are e-Series units of existing TD Mutual Funds and TD Managed Assets Portfolios, respectively. They are a separate series of the same Fund or Portfolio as current Investor Series units. e-Series units have a lower Management Expense Ratio than their Investor Series counterparts.

e-Series units are also available on the index-based TD Managed Assets Program (MAP) Portfolios, known as TD MAP e-Series. e-Series Funds share the same underlying pool of assets as Investor Series funds currently sold through TD Investment Services Inc. (TDIS). You realize the lower MER when you comply with the TD e-Series Funds Understanding & Consent form, which requires that you agree to deal with your account electronically.

What are the e-Series Fund Minimums?

The minimum investment amounts for the Funds are:

  • $100 RSP and Non-RSP
  • $25 Pre-Authorized Purchase Plan (PPP)

For the TD Managed Assets Program (MAP) the minimums are:

  • $2000 RSP and Non-RSP1
  • $25 Pre-Authorized Purchase Plan (PPP)

1 The minimum subsequent investment is $100 for both types of accounts.

    Pre-Authorized Purchase Plan (PPP)

TD Mutual Funds Pre-Authorized Purchase Plan is a systematic investment program that allows you to invest as little as $25 per fund on a regular basis. In the TD Managed Assets Program, the minimum lump sum amount must be met prior to establishing a PPP. Under the Pre-Authorized Purchase Plan, the amount you select is automatically deducted from your bank account at regular intervals and invested in the fund(s) you choose. By investing a fixed amount at regular intervals, you automatically buy more units when prices are low and fewer units when prices are high. While this technique doesn't guarantee a profit or protect against a loss, it usually results in a lower average unit cost over the long term.

Are there any other Account Fees?

There are currently no other account or transaction fees charged on TD e-Series Funds or TD e-Series Funds Accounts. An early redemption fee of 2% is charged if funds are redeemed within 90 days.
