The other side of the card
Using Visa for
your business purchases

You already know how much your customers love to use credit cards. But have you considered the convenient ways in which a Visa card could help you manage your business expenses? Consider the following:

  • A line of credit with Visa card convenience. The TD Venture Line of Credit* Visa Card, which offers an interest rate of TD Prime plus 4%,1 allows you to access your credit anytime, anywhere in the world. A credit limit as high as $50,000 is available and there are no annual, monthly or application fees.

  • Improve record keeping. The TD Business Visa Card was designed to help businesses control their travel, entertainment and general expenses. You can receive a detailed management report each month itemizing the expenses of individual cardholders, as well as totals for each employee, each department and for the entire company.2

  • Receive travel benefits. When you use your TD Business Visa Card to pay for travel expenses, you automatically receive travel accident insurance and worldwide access to emergency travel assistance, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Another valuable feature is the optional TD Travel Rewards Program. You can earn one TD Point3 for every purchase dollar charged to your Card, and you can redeem these points for travel discounts.

How secure is your web site?

Many consumers have concerns about the confidentiality of their account information when shopping on the Internet. Now Visa has a mandatory new program for online merchants — Account Information Security (AIS) — that tests a merchant’s data security without compromising the speed or ease of transactions over the Visa network.

The program helps online merchants assess their vulnerabilities and recommends measures to minimize account data exposure and online fraud. Merchants are given a set of easy-to-use tools, including printed standards and best practices, and an online security self-assessment tool, to evaluate and improve the security of their internal systems, business processes and web sites. Participants in the program also have access to a 24-hour help desk, ongoing security advice and a staffed resource centre.

All new e-commerce merchants accepting Visa as a method of payment are required to enrol in the AIS program. E-commerce merchants who entered prior to January 2001 are also required to go through the program, if they have not done so already, to make sure that their customers’ account and transaction information is secure.
