Preferred suppliers

When some of our merchants have ordered POS terminal paper from companies other than the preferred suppliers listed here, they have run into problems. These problems have caused delays in customer service and increased paper usage. Please consider the following when making your next order:

Paper quality. It's important to use paper that is best suited to your terminal and of the best quality possible. The paper being sold by non-recommended suppliers, however, can be of poor quality. When paper quality is poor, the transaction information on the paper can fade. If TD Canada Trust requests a copy of the receipt and it's illegible, the merchant might receive a chargeback. Poor-quality paper can also lead to constant and annoying paper jams in your POS terminal.

Paper roll size. Paper suppliers not recommended by TD Canada Trust might tell you they're selling more paper for a better price. But remember that the size of the spool determines the size of the paper roll. Unless you can see the spool, you may be getting a lot less paper than you bargained for. Our preferred suppliers will tell you exactly how much paper is on each roll and you'll be charged only for the amount you get.

Quoted cost. Some paper suppliers quote what sounds like a reasonable price, only to inflate the final total on merchant invoices with "hidden" costs. Or they might not disclose the full price at all. Our preferred suppliers will quote you a fair and reasonable price with no hidden charges.

Protect yourself

From time to time, less-than-reputable companies may call you claiming to be from TD Canada Trust and offering to sell you POS paper. If you place an order with them, you may not receive the supplies at all, or you could pay significantly more for the supplies you do receive.

To make sure you're dealing with a reputable company, do not place an order with anyone who calls claiming to be a supplier. Instead, place a call to one of our four preferred paper suppliers and initiate the order for more supplies yourself.

Purchasing paper from a preferred supplier will ensure that its quality is ideal for your terminal, that you receive what you've ordered in a timely manner, and that you get the best value for your business.
