Proxy Settings

A proxy server sits between a Web browser and the outside server used by the website you are requesting information from. It intercepts all requests to the real server to see if it can fulfill the requests itself. If not, it forwards the request to the real server. In order to successfully login to EasyWeb, a secure connection must be made. Unfortunately, with a proxy server sitting between you and EasyWeb, you are not guaranteed a secure connection as the proxy server may be caching all activities within EasyWeb.

To check your browser Proxy Settings (Windows Platform):

Internet Explorer 5.x

• Click on "Tools" from the browser Menu bar.
• Select "Internet Options".
• Click on the "Connection" tab.
• Click on the "LAN Settings" icon.
• Remove the check mark from the proxy server box and click "OK".
• Click "Apply" and then "OK".

Netscape Communicator 4.x

• Click on "Edit" from the drop down menu bar.
• Select "Preferences".
• Under the "Category" window (left hand column), click on the arrow next to "Advanced", a new menu should appear below.
• In the "Category" window, click on "Proxies", a new menu should appear in the right hand side.
• Select the "Direct Connection To The Internet" button at the top.
• Press "OK".
