Purchase GIC
From the My Accounts - Investing screen, click on Purchase GIC from the left navigation bar. Purchase GIC allows you to invest your savings in a TD Canada Trust GIC or Term Deposit without leaving your secure EasyWeb session.
Term Deposits and Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs) are fixed term investments that offer you a specific interest rate for a pre-determined period of time.
To purchase a GIC
- Select Purchase GIC.
- Indicate whether the GIC is to be 'Registered'(RSP) or 'Non-Registered' by selecting the appropriate button.
- Indicate whether the GIC is to be held jointly or only in your name by selecting 'Yes' or 'No'.
- From - Select the account from which you would like to purchase the GIC.
- Amount - Enter the dollar amount you wish to invest in the GIC. Please note the minimum amount for Registered GIC's is $500 and Non-Registered is $1000.
- Click 'Next' to continue the transaction.
- If the GIC is to be held jointly, complete the 'Joint Holder Iinformation' section.
- Select the product you would like to purchase by clicking on the applicable Term and Rate. If you would like more information about a specific Product, click on the Product name in the left hand column.
- Indicate the maturity instructions for your GIC.
- Click 'Next' to verify the transaction. Clicking on the 'Clear' button will clear all of the fields you have selected.
- Once you have verified the details of the transaction, confirm by clicking 'Submit'.
- You will receive a confirmation number for the transaction and will receive a 'Confirmation of Investment' in the mail once your application has been processed.

Your contact information is necessary for purchasing a GIC on EasyWeb. Any changes made to your contact information (email or phone numbers) for this request will not be updated in our records. If you would to permanently update your personal contact information please use our Change Address feature on the left-hand navigation on the My Accounts - View Accounts screen.
