Download to Simply Accounting

  1. On the View Accounts page, checkmark the account you would like to download under the "Download" column. On the Account Activity page, select the requested time period (Last 10 days, 31 days or 5 previous months in one month sections) for the account from which you wish to download information.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the View Accounts or Account Activity page.
  3. From the drop-down menu next to the words "Download to:", select Simply Accounting and click the Download button.
  4. A pop-up window will be displayed asking you what you would like to do with the file about to be downloaded. The options in Internet Explorer are Open or Save file to disk. If you are using Netscape Communicator the options are to Pick App (application) or Save File.
  5. If you select Open or Pick App the first time you export you will have to show your browser where the executable (program launch) file import.exe is located on your computer. Another window will open asking you for the path to the executable. For Simply Accounting it will typically be c:\winsim\import.exe.
  6. Once you have specified the location of this file ALL subsequent exports will launch and display you transactions automatically.
  7. If you select Save, another window will open asking you where you would like to save the file and what you would like to name it. This process basically stores the export file on your PC. It is important that you take note of where this file is saved if you wish to export it later to Simply Accounting.

IMPORTANT - The above process only needs to be done the first time you export. If you ‘uncheck’ the box next to ‘Always ask before opening this type of file’, any subsequent exports will automatically launch your version of Simply Accounting after performing steps 1 and 2.

Please note that all transactions to the close of the last business day will be downloaded.
