When will TD Canada Trust process my Personal Payee payment?

The following applies to Personal Payee payments made via EasyWeb, EasyLine, and Wireless banking.

*Personal Payee deposits to savings accounts that are no longer offered (including TD Premium Bonus accounts, TD Premium Savings accounts, and TD Chequing/ Savings accounts) are not back-dated.
** Payments to Savings accounts that are no longer offered are posted and dated the 2nd business day.

Examples

If you make a 'Personal Payee' payment to your sister on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. ET (10:00 a.m. PT), funds will be withdrawn from your account immediately, dated Tuesday, and deposited to your sister's account on Wednesday morning, with a deposit date of Tuesday.

If you make a 'Personal Payee' payment to your mother's account between 11:59 p.m. ET Friday and 11:59 p.m. ET Sunday, the funds will be withdrawn from your account immediately, dated business day Monday, and deposited to your mother's account on Monday morning with a deposit date of Monday.

When will my bill payment be processed by the Bill Company?

Depending upon the bill company's payment processing system, most companies will update your account within two or three business days of receiving your payment from TD Canada Trust.

However, regardless of when they update their system, most companies will recognize the transaction date recorded in your bank account/statement as the payment date for interest and/or penalty purposes. Other companies (like most credit card type companies) will use the business day they receive the payment from TD Canada Trust (i.e. the business day following the withdrawal date recorded in your account) as the payment date.

• Always refer and adhere to the specific payment instructions outlined on your bill company's statement to you.

• Paying your bills at least one or two business days prior to the "due date" greatly assists billing companies by avoiding their high-volume processing days.

When will my Postdated Payment be processed?

You may postdate your Bill Company and Personal Payee payments, either 'one-time' or 'recurring', up to one year into the future. Postdated payments are subject to regular payment processing times. See 'When will TD Canada Trust process my bill payment?'.

To cancel a postdated payment, click on the 'View Pending Payments' tab on the left navigation bar, under 'Payments'. Click 'Cancel' next to the pending payment you wish to cancel.

For postdated payments you must ensure…

• The bill company ('Payee') name and bill company account number are accurate and active on your bill company list on the date the payment is scheduled to be processed.

• The Personal Payee account number is accurate and active on your bill company list on the date the payment is scheduled to be processed.

• You have sufficient funds available to make the payment in your 'From:' account at all times during the day the postdated ('Pending') payment is scheduled to be processed. If at the time of processing, sufficient funds are not available to cover the payment, your passbook or statement will show the withdrawal and correcting entries along with the applicable administration fee on the date the payment was scheduled to occur.

NOTE: Postdated Bill Payments and Personal Payee Payments are processed using the available balance in your account. (i.e. If funds are being held in your account for verification, then these funds are not available for making payments.)
