A: Once you download the Accessibility Toolbar, it will open a new Toolbar at the top of your web browser. When you visit the TD Canada Trust or TD Waterhouse website, you can use the Toolbar to magnify the text you are reading, listen to it read aloud in English or French, and take advantage of other accessibility features.
After the initial download, simply click the "Download Accessibility Toolbar" button to access the toolbar.
A: No. The Accessibility Toolbar is free and available for download from TD Canada Trust and TD Waterhouse.
A: Yes. The Accessibility Toolbar lets you magnify a particular paragraph of text on the web by hovering your mouse over it.
There is also a Zoom button that lets you zoom in on a particular area of the text and a magnification button that lets you increase the size of the text on the page.
A: When you hover your mouse over a paragraph, the Accessibility Toolbar will begin playing a reading of the paragraph you are hovering over. The reading is done paragraph by paragraph and you cannot skip ahead in a paragraph. If you move your mouse to another paragraph while the reading is going on, the reading will stop and the Accessibility Toolbar will begin reading the paragraph where you moved the mouse.
A: Yes. There is a Volume button that lets you make the reading louder or softer.
As well, the Rate button controls the speed of the reading, so you can adjust the speed as you listen.
A: The Style button allows you to change the foreground and background colours on your screen to find the combination that is easiest for you to read.
A: The Ruler button will create a crosshair highlight that can help you keep track of your place in the text as you are listening to it.
A: Yes. Using the Space button, you can increase the space between the words and also between the lines to make the text easier to read.
A: No. The size of the buttons and the text on the Accessibility Toolbar itself are constant.
A: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0 or 8.0 is required. Internet Explorer 8 is strongly recommended. You can check what version you are currently using by clicking Internet Explorer Help, then About, and you can upgrade to a newer version through the Internet if necessary.
