TD Visa Benefits Auto Rental Collision/Loss Damage Insurance
Use your eligible TD Visa Card to charge the full cost of a car rental and the Auto Rental Collision/Loss Damage Insurance program will cover you at no additional cost. This insurance coverage means you do not need to purchase the collision/loss damage insurance coverage offered by the car rental company. You'll be protected against loss arising from damage to the rental car on most rentals in North America and many foreign countries. Some restrictions apply.

Car rentals must be charged in full to the Card, cannot exceed 48 consecutive days and the rental agency's Collision Damage Waiver must be waived by the Primary Cardholder. If your checked baggage is lost or delayed by more than six hours from the time of arrival at your final destination, you, your spouse and dependent children can be reimbursed up to $1,000 each. This includes the cost to replace essential items purchased before the baggage is returned to you, and the replacement cost of personal property that is not covered by the airline or other insurance if your checked baggage is never returned. If illness, injury or a death in your immediate family prevents you from completing part of a trip, you can claim up to $5,000 per person to a maximum of $25,000 for certain portions of your trip and return airfare. Simply charge the full cost of your tickets to your TD Gold Elite Visa Card to be eligible for coverage.
When you leave your province of residence, you'll automatically be covered for up to $1,000,000 of unexpected emergency medical expenses, including hospital bills, doctors and diagnostic tests (if the tests are approved in advance). You'll be covered for trips up to 8 days2 long if you're under 65, and 2 days2 if you're 65 or older. If you have a medical emergency, call the Emergency Assistance Center: 1-866-374-1129 from Canada or the U.S. or, from other countries, call collect at 416-977-4425. Expert medical advisors and coordinators can help you get to a doctor or hospital and handle eligible payments. It's important to call right away to ensure you get the maximum benefit; some expenses are only eligible if approved in advance. There are some limitations and exclusions to your coverage. For example, costs that relate to pre-existing conditions are not covered. Also, if you don't contact the Emergency Assistance Center immediately, benefits will be reduced to 80% of what would otherwise be payable, to a maximum of $30,000. When you charge the full cost of your trip to your TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card,2 you'll automatically receive Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption Insurance for the trip. If an illness, injury or other covered cause prevents you from starting your trip, you'll be covered for up to $1,000 of eligible cancellation expenses per eligible person, to a maximum of $5,000 for all eligible persons on the same trip. Eligible expenses include the cost of unused travel arrangements that were charged to your card or, with pre-approval, the cost of leaving later for your trip. Also, if a covered cause prevents you from completing your trip, you'll be covered for up to $5,000 of eligible trip interruption expenses per eligible person, to a maximum of $25,000 for all eligible persons on the same trip.
