Thank you for your interest in a TD Canada Trust GIC or Term Deposit. Applying
online is easy and convenient and takes approximately 5 to 10 minutes. This
application can be used to purchase GICs within an
RSP and GICs or Term Deposits to be held outside or within a TD
Canada Trust Tax-Free Savings Account.
To Purchase a GIC or Term Deposit Online:
You must have an existing TD Canada Trust bank account or line of credit. This account or line of credit will be debited for the value of your investment.
You must be a Canadian resident.
For GICs to be held within a RSP: The application is for a personal plan (non spousal plans).
For GICs and Term Deposits to be held within a TD Canada Trust Tax-Free Savings Account: the account must be in your personal name.

TD Canada Trust Access Card Number
Personal TD Canada Trust branch and account numbers (as shown on your cheques or account statements)
Social Insurance Number (SIN)
What Happens after you submit your application?
Once your request is processed, you will receive a Confirmation of Investment in the mail.
If you choose to hold the GIC within a TD Canada Trust RSP or the GIC or Term Deposit in a TD Canada Trust Tax- Free Savings Account and do not already have one:
Once your request is processed, you will receive an application to open the plan together with all the required documentation in the mail. Simply sign these documents where indicated and return them to us to the return address provided. We will activate your plan when we receive the signed documents.
Your investment instructions, if applicable, will be completed at the time the signed application documents are received back at TD Canada Trust and will be subject to the prevailing rates at that time.
